CLASSES AND EVENTS

Sewing on Sunday sessions are scheduled for the following dates:

Sewing on Sundays happen at Elfriede’s Fine Fabrics, 2425 Canyon, Boulder, CO. You are welcome to join us for half day ($50) or full day ($100) sessions. The full day sessions run from 9 to 4.

Easy Shells: Every wardrobe needs a lot of simple shells, in your favorite colors, to layer underneath a suit, a sweater, a jacket, a vest or a sweatshirt! In this class, you will select your favorite shell pattern – a bias or a traditional; a v-neck or a round neck; long or short – by trying on our muslins in every size and shape. We will fit the shell to your body and create a pattern for you to use, time after time. Construction techniques from facings to linings will be demonstrated. If you’d like to stay for the afternoon session, you can get started constructing your first shell from your new pattern. This class is scheduled for February 14, 2010 and March 14, 2010.

My Favorite Jacket: Or, is it my favorite sweater? This jacket is easy to make and fun to wear. It looks good on just about every figure. Start by trying on our muslins, to find your correct size. Then, we’ll find the perfect fabric for you, or fabric combination. If you’d like to stay for the afternoon, we’ll jump in and get started on your jacket. Although most people won’t be able to finish the entire jacket in one day, we’ll get you past the tricky spots so that you can easily finish up at home. As with any of our classes, if you need some additional help, to finish this project later on, you are always welcome to come back for more at no charge. This class is scheduled for February 28, 2010 and March 28, 2010.

The Mountain Studio will re-open in April, once the snow is gone and the road is clear.
Melissa will be taking Pup-ternity leave for the month of January, 2010, to welcome Raven into her happy little family.
